German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW) visits ASM
"Tough data protection standards are an integral component of the smart factory"
With new production concepts like Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, keeping your data safe is becoming increasingly important. That’s why Mike Moehlheinrich, CFO of ASM Assembly Systems, initiated together with the German Association of Small and Medium-sized Business (BVMW) a dialog that shed light on the opportunities and risks of new data protection concepts in response to the EU’s new Data Protection Directive. The bottom line: even small and medium-sized companies must employ innovative concepts to fight the rise in cyber-crime and get a leg up on the competition.
Members from all industries learned a lot about the challenges and opportunities of new data protection concepts at the BVMW business dialog.
"Especially with regard to data protection, small and medium-sized companies can learn a lot from each other, and the BVMW dialog provides an ideal platform. This topic is particularly important for ASM as a provider of smart manufacturing solutions, because tough data protection standards are an integral part of any smart factory," said Moehlheinrich. Christian Volkmer, managing partner of Project 29 Group, provided exclusive insights into current data protection practices of European enterprises. He encouraged small and medium-sized companies to demonstrate more initiative and tackle the new European data protection directives proactively, because they will be ready for the future only if they implement smart data protection programs. During a tour of ASM’s placement machine production, which was recently named "Factory of the Year", the guests could see for themselves what the implementation of safe and successful digital initiatives may look like.
Mike Moehlheinrich, CFO of ASM Assembly Systems: "At ASM we focus not only on smart production concepts, but on smart organizational structures and consistent data protection."
